Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has stated that the company will focus on bespoke content rather than retrospective compatibility for its new motion control system
During CES last week it emerged that the Natal hardware was reliant on up to 10-15 per cent of the Xbox 360 console’s processing power in order to work – denting hopes that Natal could be adapted to control existing premium titles.
Responding to those concerns, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg told Joystiq, "Our focus is on most if not all them will fall into that category of completely unique, brand-new experiences for Natal."
“Our focus is on brand-new experiences”
"Developers will have [Natal] out there at their fingertips if they want to enable those features," Greenberg told us. "But I can't speak to what that means from a game development standpoint. As far as I'm aware, there's no real sacrifice."
Greenberg also hinted that "new entertainment-like experiences that will be enabled" by the system. Virtual video phone with Avatars anybody?
