Verdict

It maybe short but for fans of the original saga it's also pretty sweet.

Arise Lord Starkiller…

It’s odd but gratifying, when a piece of DLC for a game you thought long-gone turns up, a year after release. The Force Unleashed is once again being bolstered by a brand new stage, but this time the offering is a little more exciting than the Jedi Temple level from last year – here, we have an Infinities storyline (set in an alternate timeline) where TFU hero Starkiller, now Vader’s replacement at the Emperor’s side, is dispatched to Tatooine to recover the Death Star plans.

For a Star Wars fan, it’s a treat – Starkiller pushes a Sandcrawler off a cliff, crushes a Rancor, kills Boba Fett and brutally sends Obi-Wan flying into the Millennium Falcon’s engines in this DLC, all of which culminate in more gratuitous fun than the average level of the main game. The cut scenes lack sheen, but story plays second fiddle to OTT fan service and slaughter.

Though it is a bit short – maybe an hour, tops – Tatooine definitely strikes us as a level worth revisiting, since it includes countless fun references to the Star Wars universe that justify a second look.

Final Verdict

800 Points may seem a tad steep, but there are few moments in this DLC pack where even the most casual Star Wars fan won’t sit there, enraptured, intrigued and with a big grin on their face 7.6/10
