Verdict
Who said a Star Wars TV series was a good idea?
Once again, the beloved and revered Star Wars licence is slapped across another awful product that pretends to focus its attention on the ‘kids’. If you’ve not seen the movie/TV series this is based on then you can count yourself lucky, but this hack-’n’-slash game is all kinds of awful and manages once again to taint any kind memory we once had of Luke and Leia.

You get to control the ‘popular’ characters from the series in some of the most horrendously trite situations to ever be coded into a game, with a messy control scheme, an even worse camera and some truly frustrating set pieces, even actual fans (if there are any) will find this soul destroying. It even seems to suffer from animation and frame rate problems, which really is beyond the pale. As it stands Republic Heroes is an excellent companion for the series… it’s just as disappointing and as much of a waste of time.
Final Verdict
There’s no excuse for a Star Wars TV series, let alone game, this ropey. Just because it’s for kids doesn’t mean it has to be rubbish, just try and forget it ever happened. 3.8/10
