If there’s one thing we’re beginning to get mighty tired of here at X360, it’s the continual insistence from developers that old games will only look good if they’re given gaudy overhauls. Stainless Games is arguably one of the worst culprits for this, and it’s now at it again with the abomination that is Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe.

Blow an asteroid up and it then explodes in a mess of colour that rather unhelpfully obscures other asteroids. It’s incredibly frustrating and looks bloody awful. While the original option offers a far cleaner look, it lacks the sexiness of the original vector graphics and as a result loses a lot of its charm. You may well be getting two games for your points, but what’s the point if they’re both total rubbish?
