If the single-line style of N+ wasn’t conservative enough for you, how about this classic and much-converted puzzle platformer? After all, you can’t even jump! Suitably enough for a game that has stood some 26 years of repeated play, it’s all reliable fun, plonking itself down exactly halfway between frantic platforming and considered puzzler.

That might sound as natural a mix as, say, Harry Redknapp and the Nintendo Wii, but in practice things play out like Pac-Man, only with slightly more predictable ghosts. Like most recent outings there’s a full level editor that’ll allow gamers to share the fun over Xbox Live, meaning that beyond the occasional bout of padicide there’s not much to criticise.
